Printed with a beautiful illustration of our shop these exclusive canvas shopping bags are strong, practical and stylish. Each purchase helps the environment by reducing the use of plastic bags and supports a community in West Bengal where the jute is grown.
Our supplier, WBC, has created employment and training opportunities in a rural Indian village by working in partnership with the manufacturer Eco Jute. This project has enabled the community to gain new skills and jobs and earn enough to provide their children with an education. They have built social spaces, a vegetable garden, a canteen and training facilities for these skilled weavers, sewers and artisans and more importantly they pay a fair wage to everyone in the supply chain. In an industry which normally makes little or no profit as large supermarkets and chains often aggressively drive down their prices, we saw this as a fantastic social project that is helping these people gain back some control.
So help others and save the envirnoment with our exclusive jute bags.
